On Cream's first two studio albums, Fresh Cream and Disraeli Gears, the trio was all about studio-bred brevity. It wasn't until 1968's Wheels of Fire, a double LP, that the group began to stretch out. Now mind you, it isn't a perfect album.

- An extended sixteen-minute live version (of which 13 minutes is drum solo) appears on Cream's 1968 album Wheels of Fire. - By Felix Pappalardi 'Wheels Of Fire' by Cream was never really a planned album. While Eric, Jack and Ginger talked about ideas in England, I discussed it with Ahmet Ertugen and Jerry Wexier at Atlantic. I wanted a double album right from the beginning and it was my job to sell that idea.
